The NDIA Emerging Technologies Institute (ETI) is seeking highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students to join our 2027 Summer Internship Program. As an ETI’s summer Research Interns, you will support the Institute’s emerging technology research and event programming. As our summer season internship coincides with peak preparation for ETI’s flagship annual conference called the Emerging Technologies for Defense Conference and Exhibition (ETC), held at the DC Convention Center, a substantial portion of the role focuses on conference coordination and execution
What You'll Do
Non-conference related
- Assist with other ETI events, webinars, and program needs as assigned.
- Support ETI research activities, including writing literature reviews, preparing for research interviews, researching defense technologies, and assisting with the publication of research reports.
Conference related
- Support conference planning and logistics, including maintaining timelines, task trackers, and planning materials.
- Assist with speaker coordination, including outreach, scheduling, collecting bios and presentations, and preparing logistical communications.
- Support marketing and communications by drafting promotional content, assisting with social media, and organizing outreach materials.
- Maintain and review attendee, speaker, and session data to support planning and reporting.
- Prepare conference materials and assist with registration, session support, and onsite activities, as applicable.
- Conduct background research on emerging technologies, defense priorities, organizations, and prospective speakers.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
- Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program
- Strong academic background with coursework or experience in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, or other defense emerging technologies
- Strong writing skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Duration:
May to September (15 weeks)
Compensation:
Competitive stipend.
